Lisa Thoma
Lisa has been a creative person for as long as she can remember, always dreaming and drawing and creating something. From elementary school play set designs and middle school art classes through the Louisville Fund For The Arts, to high school homecoming float design committees and observing several new construction homebuilders for her childhood homes; art, design, and imagination have consistently been her driving forces for life. Lisa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky, and 24 years in various aspects of interior design (i.e. retail/design firms/fabrication).
During weekends, Lisa rarely sits still. She always has a personal design project in mind, fitted in between children’s games, conversations, and time spent together sipping iced chai lattes. She also spends time future planning with her husband and enjoying occasional quiet dinners at their favorite local eateries.
Lisa loves experiencing so many different design styles with her clients, seeing the interiors of so many beautiful local and long distance homes that she has driven by so many times, dreaming of what may be behind their doors. Fellow designers both near and far fill her social media scrolling, so the inspiration of the world of color, texture, and pattern is always and ever flowing.
Lisa truly loves the relationship building aspect to her professional position. She is invited into clients’ most personal spaces. What she treasures most is being able to connect through not only design, but favorite artists, favorite textile designers, children’s shared stories, common acquaintances, and of course, providing beautiful spaces that her clients are proud of.
As far as industry trends that has Lisa excited, the shades of blues and whites, the emphasis on including the old, and resurgence of antiquing truly have her heart. She is a traditional girl who loves seeing English and French details circling back into their moment.
